Thomas Stoner Obituary
Tom was born August 22, 1946 in Rowan County the son of the late Freda Shepherd Stoner and Robert Glenn Stoner, Sr. He was a graduate of East Rowan High School and worked as a farmer, and retired from the North Carolina Department of Transportation. He was a member of Ministries of Living Waters Church. Mr. Stoner enjoyed farming, the fire department and helping his neighbors and friends.
Preceding him in death was his wife of 48 years Katie Parker Stoner who passed away July 22, 2017; daughter Janie Lee Stoner who passed away in 2020; brother Robert “Bob” G. Stoner, Jr.
Those left to cherish his memories are his daughter Angie Stoner Tart (Anthony) of Dunn; grandchildren Marcus Tart and Joel Tart; nephews Glenn Stoner and Greg Stoner and their families.
Visitation: 2-3:00 PM Saturday, January 6, at Summersett Funeral Home.
Memorial Service: 3:00 PM Saturday, January 6 at Summersett Memorial Chapel conducted by Pastor Floyd Howard.
Burial will be at Rowan Memorial Park at a later date.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Pooletown Fire Department. 255 Richfield Rd., Richfield, NC 28137.

I would like to give my condolences to the Stoner family. Tommy and I knew each other from small children to adulthood. We attended Morgan School, ERHS and church together for many years. He was a wonderful and caring man to all who knew him. RIP dear friend, Carolyn Cauble Brown.
