Thomas A. Sullivan

Thomas Andrew Sullivan, 77, of Chicago, IL peacefully passed away in his sleep to be reunited in heaven with his beloved son Osian O'Sullivan on September 13, 2023.
Tommy was born in Chicago, IL on November 3, 1945 to Irish parents, the late Timothy and Sarah "Sally" nee Skelton Sullivan, who immigrated respectively from Cork and Northern Ireland. From a tender age, Tommy and his two brothers, Timothy Sullivan (deceased) and John "Jack" Sullivan were raised on the west-side by "Daddy" as they affectionately referred to their father, after the devastating loss of their beloved mother.
Tommy, a former Marine Corp, loved playing the penny whistle, guitar, and singing Irish folk songs. His natural talent complimented his sparkling blue eyes and gregarious smile. Tommy loved the adventure found in nature and along with his then wife Murphy, built a geodesic dome in Silver Springs, Colorado in the 1970s. He was a skilled electrician and blacksmith and his domes still stand 50 years later.
Tommy traveled extensively, but always returned to Chicago to his greatest love, Osian. Nothing prepared him for the heartbreaking loss of his son whom he mourned daily.
Tommy is survived by his brother Jack, his 18 nieces and nephews, and dozens of great-nieces and great-nephews.
Services for Tommy will be private and his interment of cremains at Forest Home Cemetery, Forest Park, IL.
