Donna Jean (Johnson) Sullivan of Wallace, Nebraska, passed away in North Platte on February 5, 2026.
Donna was born in Sutherland, Nebraska, to Gustav Reuben and Hannah (Nelson) Johnson on February 28, 1934. She attended school at O'Fallon's, Hershey, and Wallace.
She married John L. Sullivan at St. Mary Catholic Church in Wallace on March 13, 1950. She was a member of St. Mary for 76 years.
They were Nebraska Wheat Growers Association members for 55 years, where Donna was an officer in Wheathearts and accompanied Wheat Queens to county and state fairs as well as Washington, D.C. Donna enjoyed membership in Jolly Farmerette extension clubs and St. Mary's Altar Society. She served on the Hayes County election board for 25 years. She attended many events at Wallace School supporting her children, grandchildren, and other area students. Donna and John enjoyed dancing at the Winter Dance for many years. They traveled widely, particularly enjoying the Orient, Ireland, and Sweden. Donna will always be remembered by family and friends for her potato salad and for enjoying a cup of coffee with her cinnamon rolls or a cookie. John and Donna worked side by side on their farm for 68 years.
Donna was preceded in death by her husband, son Larry, parents, and two sisters.
Donna's memory will be cherished by her children, Cynthia (Robert) Wusk of Colorado Springs, CO, Joyce (Steve) Tarris of Wickenburg, AZ, Mike (Terri) Sullivan of Wallace, Doug (Michelle) Sullivan of Wallace, daughter-in-law Pam Sullivan of Deadwood, SD, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and many dear friends.
A memorial in Donna's name has been established at St. Mary Catholic Church and Wallace Morning View Cemetery.
Condolences may be shared at bullocklongfuneralhome.com, where the Mass will be streamed live.
Funeral Mass will be held Monday, February 16, 2026, at 10:00 am at St. Mary Catholic Church in Wallace, with Father Vidya Sager officiating.
The Rosary will be recited on Sunday at the Church at 7:00 p.m. Interment will follow at the Wallace Morning View Cemetery.
