Thomas M. Swift

Thomas M. Swift died May 24th, 2025. He was 77 Years old. Born October 4th, 1947, in Detroit, to parents Russell and Mary Swift (Conway), he arrived after his brothers Jack (Sally) and Bill.
Mr. Swift is survived by his beloved wife Kathryn, his children Theresa and Kevin, his sister-in-law Sally, and niece Lynn. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Jack and Bill, and an infant brother Terrence.
A 1965 graduate of Catholic Central, he went on to attend the University of Detroit (the real U of D as he called it), and then a long and successful career with Blue Cross Blue Shield, from which he retired after 35 years. Prior to Blue Cross, he taught at Our Lady of Fatima in Oak Park for two years (1969-1971).
An avid golfer, he practiced his putts up until his last days. Whether it was in the BCBSM league or with his lifelong friends, he golfed at least weekly when the weather allowed.
A devoted husband and father, he was deeply loved and will be sorely missed.
Visitation will take place at Lynch & Sons Funeral Home, 1368 N. Crooks Road, Clawson, Friday, May 30, 2025, 3-7pm. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Holy Name Catholic Church, 630 Harmon, Birmingham, Saturday, May 31, 2025, 10am. Friends may visit beginning at 9:30am. THE FUNERAL MASS WILL BE LIVESTREAMED HERE.
