Sissonville, West Virginia, Thomas was a beacon of strength and kindness throughout his life, touching the hearts of all who knew him.
Thomas was preceded in death by his loving parents, William O and Ruth Ann (Young) Talbert, and his siblings Judy Mace, Jennings Talbert, Jackson Talbert, Raye Talbert, and Larry Talbert. His memory will be cherished and kept alive by his devoted wife of 61 years, Mary E (Burford) Talbert, his children Mark J Talbert (Vera), JJ Tugrul (Erol), and Robin Barnes, his siblings Harvey Talbert, Gary Talbert, Glen Talbert, Michael Talbert, and Ruth Bain, and his beloved grand fur baby Izzy (Snookums).
Thomas's life was marked by his unwavering service to his country. He began his military career in the US Navy, serving for four years before transferring to the US Army. His dedication to his nation was evident in his 21 years of service, which included time spent in Vietnam. He retired with honor as a Motor Sergeant, having earned the respect and admiration of his peers and subordinates alike.
