Thomas B. Tefft, 67, of Indianapolis, died Friday, March 15. Tom is remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend. Any and all who knew him will recall his big, generous heart and unforgettable sense of humor. Tom was born April 11, 1945 in Jamestown, N.Y., to Howard and Marjorie (Newton) Tefft. From as early as he was able he was working in his father's glass shop, Tefft Glass of Dunkirk, N.Y., and at age 16 upon his father's death took over the business. In 1968 he married Laura Craw in Gerry, N.Y. They have a daughter, Lynn Tefft Hoff of Aurora, Ill., and son, Wade Tefft, of Brighton, Colo. Looking for a change of scenery after Lynn and Wade were grown, Tom and Laura relocated to Indianapolis in 1996. More than anything in the world Tom enjoyed being with his family, whether it was getting down on the ground to play with his grandchildren, traveling in his son's plane, sitting through cold Buffalo Bills games with his daughter or just kicking back and relaxing with the family and friends whom he and Laura loved to entertain in their home. Tom was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife, his sisters Nancy (Charles) King of Chiefland, Fla., and Patricia (Frank) Bailey of Rochester, Ind.; his daughter and husband Robert; and his son and wife Nicole. Tom also lives on through the five grandchildren to whom he was a beloved "Grandpa" and "Papa": Benjamin Tefft, 16; Max Hoff, 10; Tristan Tefft, 8; Ashley Tefft, 5; and Thomas Hoff, 3. Services for Tom will be held Tuesday, March 19 at 1 p.m. at Flanner-Buchanan – Washington Park North, 2706 Kessler Blvd, Indianapolis. Visitation precedes the service from 11 a.m. till the time of the service. Memorials may be sent to the Indianapolis Humane Society. You are invited to go to the Guest Book page to pass along your personal message or tell a story. Sincerely, -Your friends at Flanner and Buchanan
