Thomas Michael Obituary

Thomas (Tinker) Cramer Michael, Jr., 83, passed away on June 23, 2024, in Frederick, MD. Born on May 18, 1941, to Anna Jane Michael and the late Thomas Cramer Michael, Sr., Tinker was a lifelong resident of Frederick and a respected member of his community.

After graduating from Frederick High School, he furthered his education at Potomac State College. Tinker dedicated 30 years of his career to Eastalco Aluminum Company, where he was well-regarded by his colleagues.

He was a member of Fredericktowne Baptist Church in Walkersville, MD, where he found joy in his faith.

Beyond his professional and spiritual life, he had a passion for the outdoors and was an avid hunter and golfer. He was also a fervent fan of Maryland Terps basketball, and he cherished the times spent playing cards with his close friends, Donny and Simone Phebus. Above all, family was central to his life, and he treasured every moment spent with his loved ones.

Tom is survived by his loving wife, Linda Jones Michael; children, Jamie Petrosky (Sonny), Jason Michael (Kristen), Stephanie Egan (Cameron), and Brian Boone (Gina); his mother, Anna Jane Michael; sister, Connie Katz; brother, Charles Robert Michael (Diane); grandchildren; Carlie Petrosky, Haylie Petrosky, Georgia Norwood, Caroline Michael, Christian Michael, Nicholas Maxey, Kellam Maxey, Chaz Egan, Carter Boone, Brittany Minor, Rachel Bart and 8 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father, Thomas Cramer Michael, Sr., granddaughter, Andie Marie Petrosky, and grandson, Jaron Michael Ivey.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Tom's life was marked by his kindness, dedication, and the deep impacts he made on his family and community. He will be profoundly missed by all who knew him. Thomas (Tinker) C. Michael, Jr.

May your hearts soon be filled with wonderful memories of joyful times together as you celebrate a life well lived. Tink and his family took me to my first professional baseball game many years ago at Griffith Stadium to see the Washington Senators. May his life always remain a blessing.

I have known Tinker for more than 40 years and he has always been a true friend. Tinker was always quiet but you knew he was there for you. In the past few years we would see each other at church each Sunday and I always came away from our seeing each other with renewed respect for a great friend. Tinker will be sorely missed but I know he is now in a much better place with our Savior. Rest in peace Tinker

So sorry to see of Tinkers passing. I worked with him at Eastalco for many years and enjoyed his sense of humor and playing in the American Legion Golf Tournament with Tinker and Bryan Hissey. Together they would have me rolling on the ground laughing.
My sincere condolences to Tinkers family but I know he is up there making others laugh.

Having lived next door to Jane for 25 years, we always welcomed Tinker's smiles and laughs. He was such a kind and wonderful neighbor down the street. We always got a kick out of watching him drive his mower up the street to cut his Mom's grass. In our house, when we heard a tractor motor, we always said, 'Here comes Tinker!'
Surely, Tinker is now having a blast, 'cutting God's glorious green carpet.'
Our deepest condolences to Linda, Jane, and all the family. We will pray for your comfort and strength. Be at peace, knowing Tinker has found his paradise. God bless you all.
