Thomas Jackson Cushman III, 79, of Shelbyville, Kentucky, passed away on Friday, September 12, 2025.
He was born on May 1, 1946 in Camp Lejeune, North Carolina to the late Thomas Jr. and Bradley (Duffy) Cushman.
Tom served in the US Army from 5-10-1966 to 7-2-1971 during the Vietnam era with Special Forces Green Beret and discharged as a Chief Warrant Officer. During his service Tom also served as a Medical Corpsman and Commercial Pilot. He always loved and was proud to have served his country. After his military service he attended and graduated from Union College in Schenectady, NY which lead him to medical equipment sales with Medtronic, Marquette Medical Systems and GE Medical Systems. Tom enjoyed golf, fly fishing, hunting in years past.
Tom is survived by his loving wife of 34 years, Cindy Cushman, mother-in-law, Charlotte Milhorn,
brother-in-law, Jerry Milhorn, wife Frankie, brothers, John Cushman, wife Karen and Bradley "Clark" Cushman.
Visitation will be from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Monday, September 22, 2025 at Newcomer Cremations, Funerals & Receptions (235 Juneau Drive, Louisville, KY 40243).
Graveside services will be private at Kentucky Veterans Cemetery Central in Radcliff, Kentucky.
In lieu of flowers please donate online to Wreaths Across America and sponsor a KVCC grave or Shelby County Humane Society.
