Thomas “Tom” Edward Roberts, 82, of Marion, Iowa, passed away on Wednesday, April 2, 2025, at the Dennis and Donna Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy in Hiawatha, Iowa. A Memorial Service will be held at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, April 29, 2025, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Marion, where the family will greet friends for an hour prior to services.

Tom was born on October 12, 1942, in Moline, Illinois, the son of Edward and Frances (Gitt) Roberts. He was a 1960 graduate of Moline High School. On May 10, 1978, Tom was united in marriage to Kathryn M. Pruismann in Marion. He was employed as a Territory Sales Manager for over 30 years at John Deere Co., until his retirement. He was a member of the Presbyterian Church. Tom was an avid Chicago sports fan and NASCAR fan. With his grandchildren, he enjoyed playing pranks, joking around, and bringing them special treats. Tom will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Tom is survived and lovingly remembered by his wife of 46 years, Kathryn M. Roberts of Marion; three children, Susan (Steven) Maurice of Mt. Vernon, Iowa, Nicholas Roberts of Marion, and Sara Roberts of Marion; five grandchildren, Shannon (Trevor) Riggenbach of Leighton, Iowa, James Mukesh Maurice of Iowa City, Iowa, Mackenzie Maurice (fiancé, Araz Muradli) of Clayton, North Carolina, Kathryn O’Connell of Marion, and Liam O’Connell of Marion; one great grandson, Collin Riggenbach; sister, Ann Roberts of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; and cousin, Steve Hawes of Galesburg, Illinois.

He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Randy Roberts; and beloved dog, PeeWee.
