Thomas R. Topp

THOMAS R. TOPP, 59, died Saturday, Aug. 16, 2008, at Parkview Hospital. Born in Fort Wayne, he was a machine operator for International Paper for 30 years. He also served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Carrie of New Haven; daughters, Heather Gnirk of Washington and Kristy Topp of New Haven; sons, Chad (Melissa) Topp of New Haven and Brad Topp of Fort Wayne; eight grandchildren; sisters, Catherine (Rex) Shaner of Antwerp, OH, Rosie (Ed) Grey and Helen (John) Harper, both of Woodburn, and Joyce (Wesley) Cook of Fort Wayne; brothers, Joseph (Nancy)Topp of Tennessee, Michael (Sharon) Topp of Leo-Cedarville, and William and Richard Topp, both of Fort Wayne. He was preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Elnora Topp;a brother, Edward Topp; and sisters, Pat Hawthorne, Charlotte Sprinkle and Theresa Walter. Service is 2 p.m. Wednesday at D.O. McComb & Sons Lakeside Park Funeral Home Chapel, 1140 Lake Avenue, Fort Wayne. Calling is from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
