Thomas Tucker Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by High Point Funeral Home & Crematorium on Feb. 23, 2026.
In Loving Celebration of Thomas Tucker

Thomas Tucker, lovingly known as Uncle Tommy, was born October 3, 1940, in Bronx, New York, to Frank and Mae Tucker. The last surviving sibling of fourteen from this union. He carried his family's love and legacy with quiet pride.

Though he had no children of his own, he helped shape generations. With nearly fifty nieces and nephews, he was a steady, loving presence who embraced being an uncle as his calling.

Small in stature but mighty in spirit, Uncle Tommy was a three-time cancer survivor who faced each battle with courage, resilience, and an enduring smile. His gentle strength touched everyone who knew him.

He found joy in life's simple pleasures - walking familiar streets in the Bronx, watching old western movies, especially Long John Silver, playing billiards with the ttreasured pool stick, gifted by his brother Fred, and cheering on his beloved New York Mets.

Embracing modern technology, he would use his cell phone to check on his family and to ask, "When are you coming to visit?" Family meant everything to him.

In 2018, he moved to Bartlett, Tennessee, with his sister Pearl Martin (who preceded him in death), where he found contentment in a new chapter. He became a friendly and familiar face in the neighborhood - walking to the mailbox, visiting local shops, enjoying an O'Doul's, and sharing smiles. He especially loved outings to Beale Street and B.B. King's, when family visited. His happiness was unmistakable.

He leaves to cherish his memory his many nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, and friends. With heartfelt gratitude, we honor his devoted grandnephew, Steven Jr. ("Snuff"), who faithfully and lovingly served as his primary caregiver.

Uncle Tommy's life was defined by quiet strength, steady love, and meaningful presence. His smile will remain in our hearts always.
