Thomas R. Weisbecker

Thomas Raymond Weisbecker, 72, of Monroe, died Tuesday, Aug. 12, 2025, in Toledo Hospital after suffering a massive stroke. He had fought cancer for two years. Tom was born Dec. 9, 1952, in Monroe to Simon and Marie (Marshall) Weisbecker. He graduated from Monroe High School in 1971. He served in the U.S. Army from 1972 to 1974 at the Pentagon in Washington, D.C. He graduated from Monroe County Community College, tutoring students in calculus and physics while studying there. He owned and operated Ray's Cab for many years. He was a skilled remodeler, completely transforming his own home. He also enjoyed researching his family genealogy, often sharing facts and trivia from his ancestors' lives. Tom loved the friendships he developed at ProMedica Monroe Cancer Center and was grateful for their love and care in return. He was preceded in death by his parents; his grandparents Raymond and Emma Marshall who raised him; his uncle Raymond Marshall Jr., and his sister, Sandra Kehres. Tom is survived by his sister, Darlene Weisbecker of Monroe. Services will be held at Bacarella Funeral Home, 1201 S. Telegraph Rd., on Tuesday, Aug. 19, with visitation from 11 a.m. until the funeral at 2 p.m. Pastor John Carrier, former interim pastor at Trinity Lutheran Church, will officiate. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, donations may be given to Trinity Lutheran Church, Monroe.
