James Aloysius Weisbecker, 75, passed away on Thursday, October 24, 2024. Mr. Weisbecker was born July 6, 1949, in Chicago, Illinois. As a boy, Mr. Weisbecker grew up in Atlanta, Georgia, and attended The Shrine of the Immaculate Conception Catholic School. Mr. Weisbecker graduated in 1967 from Meriwether County High School in Woodbury. In 1979, he married the love of his life, Martha Mitchell Weisbecker, whom he called "Janie," and they moved to Newnan, where they raised their family.
Mr. Weisbecker was a devoted husband and loving father. He was a devout Catholic who was active in several ministries throughout his life, including the St. Vincent de Paul Society and the Knights of Columbus. Even though he worked long hours as a forklift operator, he always made time for his family by attending little league baseball games, ballet recitals, Boy Scout camping trips, traveling around the southeast, or giving his wife heartfelt gifts. He enjoyed watching the Atlanta Braves and Georgia Bulldogs, especially with the family.
Mr. Weisbecker is survived by his wife, Martha Mitchell Weisbecker; their children, James Mitchell Weisbecker, Matthew Weisbecker, and Kathryn Weisbecker Kosmala (Matthew); and their grandchildren, George and Benjamin Kosmala. His loving extended family also survives him.
Mr. Weisbecker was preceded in death by his parents, Al and Lillie Weisbecker, and his in-laws, Willis and Carol Mitchell.
Condolences may be expressed to the family at www.mckoon.com
