Thomas Dudley White

Thomas D. White (Buddy), passed away peacefully at the age of 93 on January 13, 2024. Buddy was born in Brooklyn, New York, and finally joins his loving wife and childhood sweetheart Mary. He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Karen and Alan. He is also survived by his step-granddaughter, -grandsons, -great granddaughters, and his best friend Jim Wiedenhaefer.
Buddy was a graduate of Cardinal Hayes High School in the Bronx and proudly supported them over the years. He was honored to attend his 70th class reunion in New York leading the 2018 graduating class processional at St. Patrick's Cathedral. After the graduation ceremonies, he was the "man about town" revisiting old haunts. All of which, he did with a fractured neck!
Buddy was an avid golfer, amateur ham radio operator, volunteer at Ponte Vedra High School, and wrote odes to people who were kind and generous to him. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and the Friendly Sons of St. Patrick. Buddy also enjoyed playing bridge, canasta, and Phase 10 with his family and friends. Although, he could not speak other languages, he liked to learn colloquial expressions to greet his international friends.
For many years, Buddy kept a diary of annual goals and made notes on both goals accomplished and ones he didn't. He believed "what the mind can conceive and believe, the mind can achieve." He also wrote a "Handbook for Happiness" and believed that we should practice gratitude at every available opportunity.
