Thomas Raymond Zdanowski, age 47, passed away peacefully on September 14, 2025, surrounded by his loving husband, children, and family. A resident of Bear, Delaware, and formerly of
Runnemede, New Jersey, Tom lived a life full of compassion, laughter, and unwavering devotion to those he loved.
Beloved husband of Chad Wilson, Tom was a devoted and proud father to Lindsey, Zack, and Brad Wilson. He was the cherished son of Thomas and Kathleen Zdanowski, and dear brother to Jennifer Zdanowski and Mary Kaffenberger (Tom). Tom was a loving uncle to Everleigh Couch, Sydney Cannatella, Zach Cannatella, Jackson Kaffenberger, Teghyn Cook, Jasmine Simpson, and MaKenna Guethler. He is also survived by his caring in-laws, Karen and Steve Cook, and sister-in-law Krista Cook, and is lovingly remembered by many close friends, extended family, and his faithful four-legged companions: Tinga, Henry, Winston, Emma, Aurora, Murphy, Earl, and Emmett. He is predeceased by his beloved sister-in-law, Deanna Cook.
Tom dedicated 25 years of his life to Jefferson University Hospital, where he served in many roles with excellence and heart. He began his career as a bedside nurse in the NICU and INICU, then worked as a Patient Flow and Bed Management Coordinator, Procedural Nurse in the Interventional Neuro Department, Nurse Manager of Infusion and INR, and later as Manager of INR. He concluded his remarkable career as a Senior EHR Application Analyst on the Epic team. His passion for healthcare and his unwavering commitment to his patients and colleagues left a lasting legacy.
Tom had a vibrant love for life. He found joy in the little things-celebrating holidays with fierce spirit and friendly competition over decorations, listening to music (especially Kelly Clarkson), swimming in his backyard pool, craft fairs, planning unforgettable vacations with friends and family, and bringing laughter wherever he went with his quick wit and playful banter. Above all, Tom was devoted to his family. He was the heart of his home-a protector, provider, and guiding light. His children were his world, and he worked tirelessly to ensure they were loved, supported, and never went without.
A visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 23, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Gardner Funeral Home in Runnemede, followed by a memorial service at 12:00 PM.
Interment will be private at the request of the family.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Tom's memory-and in honor of his beloved pet Aurora, who passed shortly after him-may be made to any pet rescue organization. Tom's love for animals was just one more example of his beautiful, compassionate soul.
