Thomas A. "Tom" Zimmerman

Thomas A. Zimmerman, "Tom", 72, of Bedford, NY passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, June 8th, 2025.
Tom was born on February the 16th, 1953 in New York City to Alan (d. 2017) and Joyce Zimmerman. He graduated from Brunswick School in Greenwich CT in 1971 and went on to attend Cornell University where he received his B.S. in Horticulture in 1975. He obtained his master's degree from North Carolina State University.
Tom was President of Marval Industries in Mamaroneck, NY where he ran the multigenerational family business, with great pride for over 47 years. He valued the hard work and dedication of all of his employees and enjoyed working with his customers and suppliers while creating long lasting relationships. In 2022, Tom was inducted into the The Plastics Pioneers Association (PPA) which he was extremely honored to be a part of.
He was an active member of the Purchase Fire Department since 1981 and President of their Benevolent Association where he served alongside other dedicated individuals with a strong love of community.
Tom is survived by his faithful and loving wife Kimberly and his supportive and caring children: Ashley Tracey (Ken) of New Providence, NJ, Tristan Zimmerman (Margot) of Forest Hills, NY, and Devin Osberg (Logan) of Armonk, NY.
He was the proud Papa of his eight amazing grandchildren: Quinn, Grayden, Max, Sawyer, Asher, Zoe, Leo and Tenley.
His mother, Joyce, continues to live in Purchase, NY.
Tom was the brother of Mary Kocur (Emil) of Pound Ridge, NY and is also survived by four nieces and a nephew.
The funeral celebrating Tom's life will be held on Saturday, June 14th, 2025 at 1pm at Bedford Presbyterian Church, located at 44 Village Green, Bedford, NY 10506.
