Obituary of Joanne M. Rosamond

Joanne M. Rosamond, resident of Bedford Hills for 50 years, died Saturday, September 6 th, 2025, at Regional Hospice, Danbury CT. Joanne was born on July 28 th, 1943 in Bronxville, NY to the late Gerard and Susan Mignone.

She graduated from Eastchester High School in 1961. She retired in 2006 as Confidential Secretary to the Town Supervisor of North Castle, NY and dedicated her time to volunteering to public service, political and civic organizations where she held leadership positions including chairwoman of the Woman's Advisory Committee to the Westchester County Board of Legislators, 14 years as the president of the Bedford Hills Woman's Club, 4 years as president of the Westchester County Federation of Woman's Club, member of the Cabrini Nursing Home Advisory Board, Muscoot Park Advisory Board and other non-profit organizations. She also taught CCD at St Mary's School in Katonah.

Joanne was honored by the Westchester County Board of Legislators Proclamation for outstanding service and dedication. She was inducted into the Westchester County Senior Citizen Hall of Fame for her commitment and dedication to the residents of Westchester County. She received Certificates of Recognition from the NY State Senate for Exemplary Service and Citation from the NYS Assembly for making a positive difference and improving the quality of life in Westchester County. She also received the County Volunteer Award from the Westchester County Legislature.

Joanne was the beloved wife of George Rosamond, recently celebrating 57 years of marriage, and was the loving mother of George Jr (Liwia) of NYC and Dori Rosamond Donahue (Alphonsus IV) of Fairfield CT. She was the devoted grandmother of Eliza, Daniel, Zuzanna, Scarlet, and Phonze.

She was predeceased by six brothers and a sister.

Her greatest joy was her family, being a wife, mother and grandmother. Above all, Joanne's family came first. She prided herself on family traditions, holiday meals where all were welcome, and a home filled with love and open arms for all.

Friends may call at Clark Associates Funeral Home, 4 Woods Bridge Rd. Katonah, NY on Tuesday, September 9 th from 4:00 to 8:00 pm.

The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church at 55 Valley Rd, Katonah, NY on Wednesday, September 10 th at 11:00 am.

Interment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Hawthorne, NY.
