Thor Nilsson Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Kehl's Palmer Legacy Funeral Home on Nov. 3, 2025.
Thor Christian Nilsson, 19, of Palmer, Alaska, passed away on October 28, 2025. Born on June 7, 2006, in Reno, Nevada. Thor's father William moved his family back to Alaska when Thor and his twin brother Bernt were 2 years old. Thor lived his life with unbridled passion, a fierce love for adventure, and a spirit that could never be tamed.
Thor was a young man who truly embodied what it means to live free. An avid outdoorsman and thrill-seeker, he found his greatest joy in the wild places of Alaska- exploring the trails and mountains, particularly his beloved Hatcher's Pass. Whether he was dirt biking, riding snow-machines, hunting, fishing for dinner in Alaska's waters, or taking long drives through the Alaskan wilderness; Thor approached every experience with enthusiasm and courage. He lived by the maxim: to skid into life's finish line sideways, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming
"Wow! What a Ride!"
At just 19, Thor was already an avid welder, experienced mechanic, and pursuing his dream to start his own trucking business. His entrepreneurial spirit and work ethic inspired everyone around him. But beyond his ambitions and adventures, Thor was known for his kind heart, his fiery spirit, and his ability to make everyone feel valued and loved.
Thor is survived by his loving parents, William and Patience Nilsson; his beloved siblings, Jessica, Bernt, Avi, and Elsa; his devoted girlfriend, Claudia; and his cherished friends, along with countless others whose lives he touched with his warmth and spirit.
Though his time with us was far too brief, Thor packed more life, love, and adventure into his 19 years than most experience in a lifetime. His light may have faded from our sight, but his spirit will forever live on in the mountains he climbed, the trails he blazed, and the hearts of all who knew him.
"The mountains are calling and I must go."
Thor answered that call every day. May he rest in eternal peace among the wild places he loved, riding endless trails under endless skies. Until we meet again, keep the throttle wide open, brother. We love you forever.
