Thurman Ramsey Obituary

Thurman Ramsey, aka, Buck born June 27, 1951, to the parents Bessie Mae Thurman (mother) and Willie Ramsey, Sr. (father). He was a native and life-long resident of Tampa for most of his adult life. He retired from Publix after being employed for 20+ years. Thurman found pleasure and enjoyment working; attending church at Brown Memorial, and he was an avid football enthusiast. Our beloved will be sorely missed.
He was preceded in death by: his mother, Susie Mae Williams; father, Willie Ramsey Sr.; sisters, Susie Mae Williams, Mamie Lester, Ella Carter and Roselynn Eason; brother, Wonder Ramsey; and special aunt, Grace Sims.
He leaves to cherish his memory: a devoted and loving wife, Mary Jones Ramsey; step-son, Thomas Edward Wade, Jr.; brother, Willie Ramsey, Jr,; brothers-in-law, Bobby Bradberry (Hazel), Larry Jones, and Sheraton Jones (Liz); sisters-in-law, Beverly King, Cynthia Jones (John), and Caprice Jones-Thompkins (Aubry); and a host of nieces, nephews, and others, far too many to name, but surely loved.
A visitation was held on Friday, February 9, 2024, 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Ray Williams Funeral Home, 301 N. Howard Avenue, Tampa, FL 33606.

I met Thurman when I began working at Publix. He was one of a kind. Worked hard. He and I bagged the groceries. I loved his laughter and he had a smile on his face. If we were outside to get the shopping carts, we would take a break for a few moments and shoot the breeze as they say. And for me, he was always with a hug after I retired in 2023 due to my health. Whenever I came in, he would give me a hug. Thurman, I am so glad to have known you and work with you. May you rest in peace and smile down. To Mary Ramsey. I'm so sorry for your loss. Thurman's spirit will never leave you.
