Thyra Butcher "Tira" Bloemer

Thyra "Tira" Butcher Bloemer, 52, of Sigel, IL, passed away on Monday, July 1, 2024 at HSHS St. Anthony's Memorial Hospital in Effingham.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, July 13, 2024 at Johnson Funeral Home in Effingham. Entombment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery in Effingham. Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, July 13, 2024 prior to the service at the funeral home.

Tira was born on May 24, 1972 in Bloomington, IL, the daughter of Karen Willenborg and raised lovingly by Ted and Georgia Willenborg.
Tira worked at Patterson Technology Center and the Pilot McDonald's. She was well-traveled and loved cruises and visiting many places around the world. She also loved participating in the plays at the Effingham Performance Center. She lived in the moment and had a candid personality, always expressing herself honestly. Above all, Tira was the greatest mother and loyal friend. She was always very supportive of her family and loved ones.
Tira is survived by her sons, Tyler Bloemer of Sigel and Alex (Nicole) Bloemer of Overland Park, KS; mother, Georgia Willenborg; and her dogs, Shelby, Evie, Georgie, and Xena.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Karen Shields; step-father, John Earl Shields; father, Theodore Willenborg; sister, Barbara Ramsey; and dog, Sinjin.
