Margaret Ann Bloemer

Margaret "Maggie" Ann Cooksey Bloemer passed peacefully at her home in Houston on 08/10/2023. She was born on 02/01/1944 in Fairfield, Iowa to Mary Louise Jennings and Henry Williamson. She was raised in Houston, Texas by her mother and stepfather, Bill Cooksey.
She graduated from Lamar High School in 1961. She was an avid artist who loved acting, photography and painting, focusing on old architecture and landscapes. She had a variety of careers including working in real estate, advertising and community coordination agencies.
In the early 1970's her intuitive and empathetic abilities led her to pursue a spiritual path of metaphysical studies. She specialized in homeopathic therapies including meditation, reiki, cranial sacral, and yoga. She was talented, good-natured and comforted many people. She was honored to work with native tribes to include Lakota Sioux and Kickapoo. Later in life she volunteered as an archeological assistant for the University of West Florida, where she spent long hours combing through and cataloguing artifacts from an ancient burial ground.
Although she spent most of her life in Texas, she also spent several years in Alaska and Illinois before returning to Houston in 2022.
Her travels and life adventures included New Mexico, California, Colorado, New York, Florida, Mexico, Ireland and Israel.
Maggie was a wonderful mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. She was patient, kind, caring, and generous. She was beautiful inside and out. Her smile was infectious with bright green captivating eyes. Her hello was welcoming and warm.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Mary Louise Jennings and Henry Williamson; stepfather, Bill Cooksey; siblings, Cindy Still and Tommy Cooksey.
She is survived by children, Michael Bloemer (Gerry), Chance Bloemer, and Amy McCulloch (Brad); grandchildren, Cole Bloemer, Colby Bowman as well as extended grandchildren, great-grandchildren; siblings, Jimmy Jackson, Billy Cooksey, Cheryl Cooksey, Cathy (Sandi) Cooksey, Carolyn (Wayne) Lebanowski and brother-in-law, Jess Still. She also is survived by a large circle of loved ones to include nieces, nephews, their children, many dear lifetime friends and her soul sisters.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, August 26th at 10:00am with on-site reception where she will rest, Seaside Memorial Park, 4357 Ocean Drive, Corpus Christi, TX 78412.
