Tiania L. Shaffer, 82, of Deposit, NY, passed away peacefully on December 1, 2025, at UHS Wilson in Johnson City, NY. Born on March 5, 1943, in Somerville, NJ, Tiania lived a life full of hard work, love, and cherished memories.
Tiania's career was marked by her dedication and versatility. She began as a lab technician, honing her skills and contributing to her field for many years. Later, she transitioned into a fulfilling role as a truck driver, where she became known for her reliability and strong work ethic. Throughout her life, she balanced her professional responsibilities with her passions, notably her love for gardening, selling plants and vegetables, and spending precious moments with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
A proud graduate of Cincinnatus High School in New York, Tiania held her educational achievements close to her heart. Her early years spent growing up on a family farm instilled in her a deep appreciation for nature, which later blossomed into a lifelong hobby of gardening. She took great joy in mowing her lawn, tending to her garden, and sharing the fruits of her labor with loved ones.
Tiania was an active member of the First United Methodist Church in Deposit, NY, where she not only attended services but also sang beautifully as part of the church choir. Her faith was a cornerstone of her life, guiding her actions and shaping her character.
Tiania leaves behind her beloved children: Colt Clough, Joey Clough, Wayde Clough, and Anita Diaz; stepchildren Paul Shaffer Jr. and Doreen. Additionally, her legacy continues through her numerous grandchildren, including Kaille, Tyler & Caroline, Ashley & Melvin, Cody & Karlie, Wyatt, Krissy, Victor & Jen, Austin, Samantha, Michelle & Doug, Joshua & Ashley; great grandchildren Carson, Nicole, Hunter J., Marshall, Hunter D., Brody, Syd, Cole, Tucker, Trey, Elijah, Chloe, Cole, Eleanor, Emerson, Brooklynn, Lacey, Violet, Easton, and Payton.
Her siblings, brothers Galen, Vaughn & Melissa, and her sister Sharon, cherish the love and memories shared with their dear sister. Tiania was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Shaffer, her father Glenn Miller, her mother Moleta Fisher Miller, and her brother Terry Miller, all of whom she loved deeply.
A visitation will be held in her honor on December 12, 2025, from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM, followed by a memorial service at 12:00 PM, both taking place at the First United Methodist Church 107 Second St. in Deposit, NY.
