Timothy J. Ashenfelter, Sr., age 68, of Tower, formerly of Adrian, died at home on Friday July 28, 2023. The son of Kenneth and Martha (Casper) Ashenfelter, he was born in Adrian, Michigan on July 29, 1954. Stationed in Germany, Tim proudly served in the U.S. Army from 1974 until 1978. He went on to work for Lenawee Precision Plastics as a shipping supervisor. In 2020, Tim moved from Adrian, where he had lived his entire life, to Northern Michigan.
Content with life's simple pleasures, Tim enjoyed fishing the lakes and rivers around Adrian, Tecumseh, and Jackson. He loved watching good movies and reading Louis L'Amour Westerns. Most of all he enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. Tim will be remembered as a very giving and humble man who loved his family.
Surviving Tim is his daughter, Nancy Ashenfelter (Tim Wilson) of Tower; son, Tim Ashenfelter Jr. (Crystal) of Caldwell, Kansas; and his grandchildren, Nicholas, Gabriel, Aiyana, Coldrick, Donaven, and Savannah. Tim also leaves his brothers, Terry, Gary, and John; many nieces and nephews, and his former brother-in-law, fishing partner, and best buddy, Jessie (Marcel) Burgett of Tecumseh. He was preceded in death by a sister, Mary, and his parents.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday August 12, 2023 at Lenawee County Memorial Gardens, located just north of Tecumseh at the corner of Highway 52 and Highway 50 and will be followed by a celebration of life gathering. Those planning an expression of sympathy please consider a donation in memory of Tim to his family to help with final expenses.
