Working with someone every day for twenty-one years, you tend to get to know them. And if there was one word to define Tim, that word would be "genuine". Tim was a genuinely good man. There was no contrivance about him. What you saw is what you got. Everyone liked him and he (strangely) knew everyone. For example, I don't know how many times we would get a delivery to the factory from some obscure company and he would know the delivery person. I think the main factor in why he was well-known and liked was he could put you at ease with his smile and laugh (which he did often) or maybe it was his bad "dad jokes"?
Personally, though, what made him so special to me is he was always there if I needed him. In the past, if I had car problems he'd pick me up for work, watch my dog if I needed a sitter, and, most importantly, gave me a place to stay when I needed a roof over my head. In 2016 my wife and I lost everything in the Clayton Fire. But even before that wildfire reached the property, Tim called me saying "Get up here". No questions asked. That's a perfect example of what he was like.
He was much more than a co-worker, or even a friend. He was family.
So, goodbye, Tim. The world's a little less special without you in it.

I have known and appreciated Tim as an employee and friend for over 20 years. He was quite remarkable in his loyalty and honesty and dedication. We could always count on Tim, always.
I am very grateful for everything he did, and especially for his pivotal role in rebuilding the factory in the years after the 2015 fire.
Besides, he was such a pleasure to work with. Typically upbeat, open and confessed about his strenghts and weaknesses, ready for a smile or a joke, a delightful friend and collegue.
After so many years of shared joys and sorrows it is like losing a member of my family. I wish him the very best on this trip into the beyond, where I hope he will be welcomed as the good man he is.
And there might even be some racoon fishing there too.
Fare well, my dear friend!
