Tim Nugent Obituary

Visit the Heritage-Dilday Memorial Services website to view the full obituary.
Tim Nugent, born in Toronto, Canada, passed away peacefully on March 12, 2026 with his loving family by his side. He valiantly survived a 16 month battle with glioblastoma, fighting hard with everything he had until the very end. Despite his illness, he maintained his optimism, sense of humor, and adventurous spirit, facing life head on with a positive attitude. Tim was a loving and devoted husband to his wife, Nancy, and caring and proud dad to his daughters, Maya and Heather. He was a thoughtful and dedicated son to his mom, Evelyn, as well as a loyal brother to his sister, Susie, and her husband, Rick. He will be dearly missed by his father-in-law Gerrit Hazeleger, his in-laws John and Sue, Hank and Nancy-Lee, Deb and Scott, Annette and Tom, and Cindy and Kevin, as well as many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and Bunnyhops. He was predeceased by his father Jack, his mother-in-law Alice, his grandma Connie, and his aunt Joan. Tim graduated from the University of Guelph with his Bachelor of Science in Engineering and later earned an MBA from Pepperdine University. In 1993, he and Nancy moved to California, beginning a life filled with love and adventure. He built a successful career as a pre-construction sales engineer with Pacific Rim Mechanical. Tim's integrity and expertise ultimately led to his becoming a part-owner of a company he loved and was deeply proud of. Tim truly lived life to the fullest. He was an avid scuba diver, waterskiier, sailor, surfer, softball coach, woodworker, craftsman, race-car driver, and boater. He shared his passions with his family, ensuring his legacy as an adventurer would live on. Tim fulfilled his lifelong dream of building his own log cottage on his beloved Chandos Lake, next door to the one built by his dad/.. His genuine and loyal character was reflected in his large and diverse circle of friends from all facets of his life. Tim was immensely proud of his wife and daughters, and was always their biggest supporter in every endeavor. He found great joy in watching Maya and Heather pursue their passions, compete in collegiate athletics, and excel in all areas of their lives. Tim will be profoundly missed by those who had the privilege of knowing him. Tim's family extends a special thank you to Dr. Khagi, Dr. Duma, and Adrienne, along with the many other doctors, nurses, and staff who compassionately cared for Tim at Hoag Hospital.
