Tim Tillman Rovig, known affectionately as Tim to his friends and family, passed away peacefully on December 9, 2024, at his home in Fortson, GA. Born on October 4, 1966, in Columbus, GA, Tim's zest for life and infectious laughter left a lasting impression on all who knew him.
A memorial service will be held 11:00AM Saturday, December 14, 2024 in the Chapel of McMullen Funeral Home and Crematory. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home, 3874 Gentian Blvd. Columbus, GA 31907.
A proud graduate of Hardaway High School, Tim's commitment to education led him to Columbus College, now known as Columbus State University, where he earned his Bachelor's degree. His academic accomplishments laid a strong foundation for his future endeavors. After high school, Tim started his career at UPS. With entrepreneurial spirit and determination, he later ventured into business for himself. He successfully established and operated a thriving landscaping and lawn maintenance business, demonstrating his deep-rooted work ethic and passion for the outdoors.
Tim's love for nature extended well beyond his professional life. As an avid fisher and hunter, he found solace and joy in the tranquility of the wilderness. The thrills of snow skiing out west captivated him. He loved to support Georgia football and the Atlanta Braves, it was one of his favorite ways to bond with his sons.
Staying fit was a priority for Tim, and he often combined his workouts with the energetic beats of 80s rock music, a genre that fueled his soul. His love for motorcycles was more than a hobby-it was a symbol of freedom and adventure, much like the spirit he carried within him. Those who knew Tim will fondly remember his great sense of humor-a gift that he generously shared, bringing laughter and light into the lives of many.
Tim's adventurous spirit was matched only by his dedication to his family. He leaves behind his two adored sons, Zachary Rovig (Kendall), Jacob Rovig (fiancé Emily), mother of adored sons, Tracie Rovig, granddaughter, Madelyn Joy Rovig, brothers, Allan Rovig (Denise), Todd Rovig (Cindy), aunts and uncles, Bill and Katrina McIntosh, Carol Jean McIntosh. He is preceded in death by his mother, Anna Rovig and father Jim Rovig.
Zachary and Jacob Rovig were the pride and joy of his life. His role as a father was one he cherished deeply, and the love and wisdom he imparted to his sons will continue to guide them throughout their lives.
Described by those who loved him as funny, adventurous, and spirited, Tim's legacy is not only in the businesses he built or the hobbies he enjoyed but in the laughter, courage, and joy he inspired in others. His presence was a source of strength and happiness, and his memory will be treasured in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know him.
Tim's departure leaves a void that cannot be filled, but his spirit will continue to live on through the stories told, the memories shared, and the lives he touched. His journey on this earth may have concluded, but the echoes of his laughter and the footprints of his adventurous life will remain forever. May he rest in peace in the hands of the Lord.
