Vicki Laree Rovig, 68, of Boise, Idaho, passed away unexpectedly on June 5, 2025.
Born in Idaho Falls on May 1, 1957, Vicki was a loving daughter to Irving and Corliean Kendle. She shared a special bond with her father and spent many childhood days helping him on the well drilling rig, moving equipment, and learning the value of hard work. In her younger years, Vicki had a passion for ballet and fashion. She worked for the Idaho Department Stores, where her style and grace were appreciated by many.
Vicki married Steven Rovig, and together they shared 48 years of marriage. After moving to Boise for work, Vicki often spoke of how grateful she was to leave behind the wind and cold of Idaho Falls. She enjoyed living near the greenbelt, where she could take peaceful walks and enjoy her backyard with horses and other animals just beyond the fence. They raised their son, Camden, and eventually welcomed a grandson, Paxden, whom Vicki adored deeply.
Vicki found joy in being outdoors. She went on daily walks, tended to her garden every year, and loved spending time with friends and family outside. Animals held a special place in her heart, as stray animals often followed her home, and she never turned them away. She made sure every one of them was cared for and loved.
Travel was another great joy in Vicki's life. She went on about 30 cruises, always looking forward to her next adventure. She had two more cruises planned before her passing. In recent years, she especially cherished time at the family cabin in Island Park, a place full of peaceful memories and meaningful connections to her father and childhood.
Vicki was known for being a beautiful, kind, and generous person. She was a wonderful listener and a natural storyteller, often sharing fond memories of her childhood and grandparents. Her deep Bible knowledge and love of Jehovah God gave her life meaning and purpose. She looked forward to the promise of a peaceful paradise on earth and loved sharing Bible truths with her neighbors. Her life was filled with countless small acts of love and selflessness.
Vicki was preceded in death by her parents, Irving and Corliean Kendle. She is survived by her husband, Steven Rovig; her son, Camden Rovig, and his wife, Ashley, of Star, Idaho; her grandson, Paxden; and her brother, Vaughn Kendle, and his wife, Cheryl, of Idaho Falls.
She will be remembered for her caring heart, her love of Jehovah God, her adventurous spirit, and the quiet way she made life better for those around her. Vicki will be deeply missed and forever loved.
