Timothy Wayne Thompson, 64, passed away at his residence in Myrtle on December 31, 2025. He was born in Amory on April 26, 1961 to Phillip Wayne Thompson and Betty Laverne Stanford Thompson. He was a graduate of Smithville High School Class of 1979 where he played football and basketball. On June 7, 1980, Tim married Tonya Blake. Tim was a jack of all trades and could fix anything. Over the years, he owned 2 successful businesses where he provided his own brand of professional service. To Tim, it wasn’t just about the quality of his work, but the lasting impression that he left with his customers, and due to his great work, he built lasting friendships that he valued throughout his life. Not only was he a “doer’ but he was a “teacher” as well. He took great pride in sharing his knowledge with others. He would say that he had many great teachers throughout his life so it was up to him to share his as well. Tim so enjoyed spending time with his son, Blake, working on the show trucks. He took every opportunity that he had to pull out his phone to show anyone and everyone pictures of what his son had built. His face would just light up with such pride when he talked about Blake and all of his accomplishments. But Tim’s greatest accomplishment was his family and spending time with them; Blake, his pride and joy, Mindy, who he says he helped “handpick” to be his daughter in law; Nicole and Peyton, the lights of his life. He was a member of Endville Baptist Church. This is Tim’s Legacy.
Tim is survived by his wife of 45 years, Tonya Thompson; his mother, Betty Laverne Thompson, Smithville; son, Blake Thompson (Mindy), Myrtle; sister, Tina Morrow (Jeff), Smithville; granddaughters, Nicole and Peyton Thompson, Myrtle; special friend, Chase McMillen and his precious daughter, Sadie Kate.
Tim is preceded in death by his father, Phillip Thompson; his daughter, Heather Nicole Thompson.
