Timothy Jon Bijold, age 75, died on October 30, 2025 after a lengthy illness. Tim was born on December 7, 1949 to Walter and Marion Bijold, and grew up on the west side of Proctor. He attended St. Rose and Proctor Schools. Tim was drafted into the army in 1969, and was stationed to serve in Germany. When he returned home, Tim began with the DM&IR Railroad in Proctor.
A natural athlete, Tim enjoyed many athletic pursuits over the years. He excelled at racquet ball and golf in his later years, and he was very proud of sinking two hole-in ones. Tim participated in two mission trips to Mississippi to help rebuild communities following Hurricane Katrina. Following his stroke, Tim mostly enjoyed going on adventures with his son.
Tim was preceded in death by his parents and brother Tom Bijold.
He is survived by his three children, daughters Nicole (Jesse) Brandon, and Jessica Griffin of Waco, TX, and son Andre Bijold of Duluth; six grandchildren and several great-grandchildren. He also leaves behind his sisters Mary Jo (Dale) White of Proctor, and Patti (Doug) Francisco of Cloquet, sister-in-law Nina Bijold of Proctor, and his former wife Roxanne Bijold of Duluth.
Special thanks to his many caregivers at Spirit Valley/Vitacare Assisted Living, and Moments Hospice.
A remembrance of Tim's life will be held at the Cremation Society on 4100 Grand Avenue in Duluth on Friday, November 7, from 11AM-1 PM with a lunch served. Burial will be at the Minnesota Veterans cemetery at a later date.

I was Tim´s caregiver for several years. Tim was more than a resident to me, he was my friend, he was like family. He told me many stories over the years and he loved to make me laugh. His eyes lit up most when he talked about his son and all the things they had done over the years or about all the things he taught him. He was really proud to be Andre´s dad. Tim would always make sure to tell me to wash my car, ask me about how my daughter was doing , or tell me what I should make for dessert. I will miss him more than I could have imagined but I am grateful for getting to know him. My love and prayers go to his family.

Sorry for your loss. Tim was a person with nolage of lots of things, liked hearing him talk about it, Tim and I shared local dirt track racing we both knew a lot of the racers, had lots of laughs. I've only new him for a few years living in the same assisted living. Will be missed. Prayers to the family. Maryann Schaub
