Obituary of Timothy R. Blum
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Timothy R. Blum, who left this world on July 16, 2025, at his home in Champlin, Minnesota, at the age of 63. Born on October 29, 1961, Timothy was a cherished son, a devoted father, a loving brother, and a proud grandfather.
Timothy was born in St. Louis Park, Minnesota to Ray Blum and Ruby Blum. He was raised in Champlin, where he cultivated a strong sense of community and family values. Timothy graduated from Anoka High School in 1979, a milestone that marked the beginning of his journey into adulthood and responsibility.
In his youth, Timothy showed a deep commitment to serving his country. He entered the Army and served for several years, returning to Minnesota with a sense of pride and dedication that would define his life. After his military service, Timothy began his professional career at McGlynn's Bakery, which later became part of General Mills. He dedicated many years of his life to this company, where he ultimately retired, leaving behind a legacy of hard work and commitment.
Timothy was a man of many interests. He found joy in the simple pleasures of life-fishing in the serene waters, bowling with friends, cooking for friends and family, and collecting dragon figures and artwork, a hobby that spoke to his unique personality. In his later years, he cherished the quiet moments spent with his beloved pet dog, Poco, who was a constant source of companionship and comfort.
Timothy's family was the cornerstone of his life. He is survived by his loving mother, Ruby Blum, his two daughters, Elise Bartram and Tiffany Daugherty, his brother, Todd Blum, and three cherished grandchildren. He also leaves behind several aunts, uncles, and cousins, all of whom will miss him dearly.
Preceding him in death were his father, Ray Blum, paternal grandparents Henry and Gladys Blum, and maternal grandparents Bert and Dorothy Bell. Additionally, he was preceded by his uncle Richard Blum and aunts Joanne Zwack and Gloria Smith, who welcomed him with open arms on the other side.
Timothy's life was marked by his unwavering love for his family and friends. He touched the lives of many and will be remembered for his gentle spirit, kind heart, and infectious laughter. His ability to connect with others and create lasting memories will live on in the hearts of those who knew him.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to the Cremation Society of Minnesota, especially Scott, for their compassionate care during this difficult time, and to the Champlin emergency services for their support.
Though Timothy may have left this earthly realm, his spirit will continue to guide and inspire those who loved him. As we celebrate his life, we find comfort in the memories we shared, the lessons we learned from him, and the love that will forever remain in our hearts. There will be a private service in Eau Claire, Wisconsin for family.
Rest in peace, Timothy. You will be deeply missed, but your legacy will endure in the love of your family.
