Salem- Timothy Ray Bradford, age 75 of Salem, passed away on Wednesday, October 15, 2025, at University Hospital Portage Medical Center in Ravenna.
He was born on August 10, 1950, in Portsmouth, Ohio, a son of Kelly Bradford and Velma Ewing Pope.
Tim was a veteran of the United States Army, having served during the Vietnam War in the 10th Cavalry, 4th Infantry Division. He worked as a machinist for 40 years, retiring from Lehmann Mills Inc. in 2011. He was a member of the Leetonia Eagles #1496, the Leetonia American Legion Post #131 and the Washingtonville VFW Post #5532. As a young boy growing up in Portsmouth, Tim was often found swimming in the rivers and catching crawfish. As an adult he continued to love the outdoors, especially hunting morel mushrooms every spring. He was married to the love of his life, Marcia, for over 50 years. During this time, he enjoyed taking many road trips with her, their close friends and their family. Mostly Tim is remembered as being a hardworking, quiet man who wholeheartedly loved his family and adored his grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife, Marcia Longbottom Bradford whom he married on November 29, 1974; daughter, Mandi (Roger) Mellott of Salem; son, Joseph Bradford of Salem; siblings, Richard (Shella) Bradford, Denise Bradford, Bill Bradford and Sean Pope. Also surviving are his eight grandchildren, Josie (Jesse) Elasivich, Abbie Mellott, Brady Mellott, Samantha Benner, Aubrey Benner, Beck Benner, Ethan Mancuso and Darrion Bradford.
Tim was preceded in death by a son, Timothy Ray Bradford, Jr. and a brother, Rodney Bradford.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, October 25, 2025, from 11:00am - 12:00pm at the Woods-Rettig Funeral Home, Leetonia.
Services will be held on Saturday, October 25, 2025, at 12:00pm at the funeral home, with Pastor Kari Lankford officiating.
Tim was rarely seen without a flannel shirt; therefore, his family is asking you to dress comfortably and wear your favorite flannel shirt in Tim's honor.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the Woods-Rettig Funeral Home, Leetonia.
