Timothy Combs Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Sproles Family Funeral Home - New Castle on Mar. 30, 2026.
Timothy Combs, 67, of Indianapolis, passed away unexpectedly at his home on Saturday, March 28, 2026.

He was born on March 7, 1959, in Mason County, Kentucky, a son of William Leslie and Rosetta (Souder) Combs.

Tim was a 1977 graduate of Belpre Christian Academy in Belpre, Ohio. He spent much of his life working in mechanical and construction trades, often taking on a variety of handyman projects. He especially enjoyed working alongside his brothers, whether painting, remodeling, or tackling the next project together.

Tim had a deep love for sports, cheering on the UK Wildcats and the Cincinnati Reds whenever he had the chance. He also enjoyed watching Jimmy Swaggart Ministries and listening to Southern Gospel music. Above all, Tim treasured time with his family-especially his grandchildren, who brought him great joy.

Known for his outgoing nature, Tim never met a stranger. He had a gift for conversation and a natural way of making people laugh, often sharing a good "dad joke" with anyone willing to listen.

Those left to cherish Tim's memory include his wife, Chong Combs; his children, Julie (Charles) Fields, Courtney Baird, and Andrew (Lacey) Combs, all of Indianapolis; his step-children, Chong (Sanjiv) Neal of Fishers, Angie (Terrance) Colemen of Indianapolis, and Anthony (TeiAundra) Walters of Clarksburg, Maryland; his grandchildren, Grayden, Ella Rose, Clark, RaeAnn, Natalie, Tayla, Max, Mylah, AJ, Austin, Arianna, Ajhiana, and Jayda; and his siblings, Wayne (Nancy) Combs of Kansas, Drexel (Dienne) Combs of Indianapolis, Billy (Diane) Combs of Gassville, Arkansas, Linda (Danny) Clark of Pennsylvania, Diane (Kenny) Lane of Overland Park, Kansas, Vada Combs of Indianapolis, and Ronnie (Carol Ann) Combs of Lebanon, Pennsylvania, along with many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Tim was preceded in death by his grandson, Nathaniel Fields, and his siblings, Clayton Combs, Darlene Combs, Marva McVey, Tony Combs, and Eddie Combs.

Funeral services will be held at 12:00 noon on Saturday, April 4, 2026, at Beech Grove Independent Nazarene Church, 5152 Hornet Avenue in Beech Grove, in the Nazarene Christian School gymnasium, with Pastor Don Bates Jr. officiating. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service on Saturday at the gym.
