Lynda Kay Bentle, 67, of Middletown, passed away peacefully at her home on Friday morning, March 27, 2026, following a courageous and hard-fought battle with cancer.
Born on July 31, 1958, in
Hamilton, Ohio, Lynda was the cherished daughter of the late Cecil Myron Bentle and Janetta Marie (Swango) Bentle.
Lynda was a proud 1976 graduate of East Central High School. She continued her education at Ball State University, where she earned her bachelor's degree with a double major in criminology and education. She began her remarkable 51-year career as a social studies teacher and cheerleading coach at Daleville High School, inspiring and mentoring countless students.
A devoted and hardworking woman, Lynda embraced many roles throughout her life. In addition to her early years in education, she built a diverse career that included work in bank management and bookkeeping, all while dedicating herself to raising her family with love and strength.
Lynda loved the beach and long, sun-soaked days by the pool-margarita in hand, listening to Jimmy Buffett. She was also a true do-it-yourself enthusiast: resourceful, determined, and capable of fixing just about anything. From tackling her own electrical work to roofing her garage, she approached every project with confidence.
Beyond her practical talents, Lynda was a true "fashionista" with a natural eye for style and interior design. She took pride in how she presented herself, always impeccably dressed, with a signature collection of beloved high heels and perfectly matched purses that reflected her flair for fashion.
Above all she found her greatest joy in her family. She was a loving and devoted mother and grandmother who treasured every moment spent with her children and grandchildren. She also had a special place in her heart for her beloved furbabies, who brought her constant companionship and comfort.
Those left to cherish Lynda's memory include her two children, Brittany Robbins of
St. Petersburg, FL, and Brigham (Marissa) Robbins of Indianapolis; her two grandchildren, McCall Robbins, and Callahan Robbins; her sister in law and niece, Debbie and Jaymee Bentle, and her beloved grand-cat Perrywinkle.
In addition to her parents, Lynda was preceded in death by her brother Randy Kirk Bentle and her sweet boy Jake, her black lab of 14 years.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date at the convenience of the family.
Lynda will be remembered for her resilience, her strong work ethic, and the deep love she shared with those closest to her. Her legacy of kindness, dedication, and unwavering love will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
