Timothy Lyle Derossett, 60, of Windfall, peacefully passed away on Thursday, March 19, 2026, in Carmel, Indiana. Born in Tipton on May 29, 1965, to William Lyle Max and Molly Aileen (Kennedy) Derossett, Tim’s life was marked by dedication, warmth, and a joyful spirit.
Before beginning his career at the Chrysler Transmission Plant in Kokomo, Tim honed his skills in masonry. He devoted about a decade to the transmission plant, leaving behind a legacy of hard work and determination. Those who knew Tim will fondly remember his infectious smile, his charming good looks, and his wonderful sense of humor that could brighten any room. He enjoyed working out and was a HUGE NASCAR fan!
Tim is lovingly remembered by his two daughters, Khloe Evans and her husband Matt of Pendleton, and Kelsey Salguera and her husband Carlos of Indianapolis. He is also survived by his siblings, Kathy Whaley and her husband Jeff of Greentown, Patricia Mooney of Greentown, Mark Derossett of Windfall, and Shawn Derossett of Carmel. Tim was a proud grandfather to Caden and Carver Evans and Yuna Salguera, who brought him endless joy. He was preceded in death by his parents; his ex-wife, Elizabeth Derossett, who was also the mother of his children, and a grandson, Kaien Joseph Salguera.
A graveside service to honor Tim’s memory will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, March 24, at Brookside Cemetery in Windfall, with Steve Brown officiating. Young-Nichols Funeral Home is privileged to assist the Derossett family during this time. Those wishing to share condolences may do so online at www.young-nichols.com.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to be made in Tim’s honor to support a student of Tri-Central with college expenses through the Tipton County Foundation at 1020 W Jefferson St, Tipton, Indiana 46072. Through this meaningful gesture, Tim’s generous spirit and commitment to others will continue to inspire and uplift future generations.
