Timothy P. Driscoll

Timothy "Tim" Driscoll, a lifelong resident of Bristol, Connecticut, passed away peacefully after a brief illness, surrounded by loved ones.

Tim devoted his life to service, most notably as a dedicated elementary school teacher in Bristol for more than 35 years. His impact on generations of students was profound, and in 1996 he was honored as Bristol's Teacher of the Year. Even after retirement, Tim remained closely connected to his school community and the many children whose lives he touched.

Beyond the classroom, Tim was deeply committed to his community. He served as an officer of the Friends of the Bristol Library, was a member of the Democratic Town Committee, and served several terms as Zoning Board Commissioner. He was also an active member of B.A.R.T. (Bristol Area Retired Teachers) and co-chair of its Social Services Committee.

Tim enjoyed a rich and fulfilling personal life. He loved reading and traveling, exploring destinations both near and far, including memorable trips to Egypt, Indonesia, and Australia. He was known for his warm personality, active social life, and the joy he brought to others. Many of his former student fondly remember creating his beloved holiday craft bears, a tradition that continues to carry his spirit forward.

He is survived by his sister, Maureen Cistulli of Virginia; his nephews, Thomas, Corey, and Patrick Cistulli, all of Connecticut; his niece, Lauren Bombanti of Cape Cod, and her brother James Bombanti and his wife, Azusa of Newport Beach, CA; and his great-nephew. Shawn Bombanti of Cape Cod. He also leaves behind many dear friends.

Tim was predeceased by his nephew Jordan; his longtime friend, Carol Hansen of Bristol; and his parents, Thomas and Kathleen Driscoll.

Calling hours will be held at Funk Funeral Home, 35 Bellevue Ave., Bristol, on Tuesday (February 24, 2026) between 5 and 7 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday (February 25, 2026) at 10:30 AM at St. Gregory the Great Church, 235 Maltby St., Bristol. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, Bristol. Tim will be remembered as a caring teacher, devoted community member and beloved friend and family.
