TIMOTHY ENFIELD Obituary
TIMOTHY PAUL ENFIELD
April 2, 1991 – July 29, 2025
Timothy Paul Enfield, MSBA, died suddenly and unexpectedly of natural causes at his home in Austin, Texas, on July 29, 2025, at age 34. Tim leaves a remarkable legacy for family, friends, and community.
Born in Santa Fe, New Mexico, to Lynn Carothers and Eric Enfield, Tim spent his childhood in California, New Hampshire, and New Mexico. In his high school essay Becoming "Normal," Tim explained that his journey of coping with cerebral palsy gave him a different and unique experience of the world, which created his own version of "normal." This inspired Tim to start the Think Alive Foundation at age 17 to assist disabled adolescents through experiential learning.
For five years, Think Alive provided financial and ongoing personal support for any kind of expenses families might incur to help their children achieve their goals-including often-overlooked needs such as sports or mobility equipment, lessons and sports training, and travel costs. This changed his life.
Tim showed championship Morgan horses during his childhood and as a young adult, becoming a three-time Grand National Champion and World Champion. He excelled academically, was a varsity basketball and track athlete in high school, rowed competitively, competed in the Paralympics National Track and Field Championships, and ran half marathons.
He was a graduate of Santa Fe Preparatory School and, as a teenager, was recognized for volunteerism by Christus St. Vincent's Hospital. Though he chose to begin college at Wake Forest University, a high school highlight for Tim was the basketball scholarship he was offered by Adams State University. He received Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Science degrees from the University of Massachusetts in Business Administration and Sports Management, and a Master of Science in Business Analytics from Wake Forest University. He was recognized nationally for his advocacy efforts and excellence in entrepreneurship. Tim was a business intelligence and data analyst who was most recently employed by Apple.
Above and beyond Tim's personal and professional achievements, he had a generous, caring, and gentle spirit that was evident to all. He met life and its challenges head-on and positively. Tim had a strong moral compass and work ethic; was a life-long, avid sports and stats fan; and blessed his family and friends with love and loyalty.
In addition to his parents, Tim is survived by his stepmother, Kelly Sue Enfield; his sisters, Frances Enfield and Isis Enfield; his stepfather, Ken Carothers; his cousins, Ariel Enfield Sklar, Ethan Enfield Sklar, Conor Van Bibber, Maeve Van Bibber, Shelley Van Bibber, Taylor Marijo, Randy Carothers, Brandon Carothers, and Denise Carothers; his aunt, Lisa Enfield; his uncle, Bill Van Bibber; and his grandparents, Linda and Lewis Van Bibber.
Tim was predeceased by his uncles, Stuart Enfield and Dan Van Bibber, and by his paternal grandparents, Mona Enfield Coffield and Robert Enfield.
A celebration of Tim's life will be held in Santa Fe at the Santa Fe Preparatory School on Saturday, October 18, at 4 p.m.
Contributions in Tim's memory can be made to the Think Alive Fund at the Santa Fe Preparatory School, which will be stewarded by the students and continue the work Tim began at the Think Alive Foundation. This is how Tim would want his gifts of love to continue.
