Timothy Ferrigan Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Watkins Brothers Funeral Homes - Laingsburg Chapel on Jun. 19, 2024.
Timothy E. Ferrigan, affectionately known as Tim by his friends and loved ones, passed away at the age of 83 on June 19, 2024, at the Hospice House of Mid-Michigan. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 AM on Friday, June 21, 2024, at St. Isidore Catholic Church located at 310 N. Crum St., Laingsburg, Michigan. Rev. Fr. Anthony Brooks will celebrate. Burial immediately following at Mt. Olivet Catholic Cemetery in Laingsburg with military honors. The family will receive friends beginning at 5-8:00 PM on Thursday, June 20, 2024 with a rosary prayer at 7:30 PM led by Deacon John Marsh at Watkins Brothers Funeral Homes, 203 E. First St., Laingsburg, MI 48848.
Born on August 5, 1940 in Owosso. Tim was the cherished son of Edward and Anna (Mahoney) Ferrigan. He spent his entire life as a proud and active member of the Laingsburg community.
Tim dedicated himself to his country through service in the United States Navy, a period of his life that instilled in him a sense of duty and honor that he carried throughout his years. After serving, he found his calling at General Motors, where he worked diligently for 25 years before retiring in 1993. His colleagues remember him as a devoted and reliable worker.
The cornerstone of Tim's life was his family. He married the love of his life, Marjorie, on January 17, 1970, and together they built a loving home filled with laughter, support, and an abundance of cherished memories. Their union was blessed with seven children: Patricia (Dean) Gillespie, Cindy Smith, Bob (Sheri) Voisinet, Barry (Cindy) Voisinet, Lisa (Mark) Brink, and Lynda (Ron) Underhill. Tim took immense joy in being a guiding light and loving figure to his 14 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren, whose accomplishments and milestones were his greatest pride. He was preceded in death by his parents, his daughter, Laurie Voisinet, and his three brothers, Don, Ed, and David Ferrigan.
As a man of the outdoors, Tim found solace in the beauty of nature. He was an avid hunter and fisherman, embracing the serenity of dawn and the quietude of dusk on his property. His love for the outdoors extended to competitive sports, where he showcased his marksmanship in International Handgun Shoots and took pleasure in participating in sporting clay shoots.
Tim's heart was as vast as the outdoors he loved, he approached life with a spirit of generosity, always placing the needs of others before his own. Family events were the highlights of his calendar, and he never missed an opportunity to support his children and their offspring in all their endeavors.

My sincere sympathy to the Ferrigan family. I remember Tim and Margie from long ago Ferrigan reunions. Their kids were about my age and we played together. My parents were Vic and Ethel Voisinet. Sending prayers for peace and comfort. Karen Voisinet Fraser
