Timothy Gene Fox was the first child born to Donald Gene Fox and Ruth Elaine (Nachtman) Fox on January 11, 1957 in O’Neill, NE. He graduated from Rock County High School at Bassett, NE in 1975. Tim continued his education at Hastings Community College. Upon completion, he worked in Atkinson, NE at Olson Irrigation for a number of years before working at Vetter Farms at Bassett. In 2008, Tim started delivering mail which he truly enjoyed and totally dedicated himself. Those he worked for would say that you could always depend on Tim to be there and to be early.
When Tim first got his driver’s license, I can assure you that every one of his siblings got to pick sunflowers as he would always favor the right side of the road. We would only take it for so long and then strongly advise him to get it back on the road!
Tim’s true love was race cars. Starting from a very young age every Sunday night he would attend the races with his family in Stuart, NE. He could better tell you about Dad’s year of racing old “01” than the rest of us. A few years while his brother Kevin was around to drive, Tim had a stock car. When that ended, Tim then stayed involved at the Stuart track volunteering to line up the stock cars at every race. He had 50 plus years volunteering. If NASCAR was on, the house could have burned to the ground around him, he would still be glued to TV. If it was something he liked he put his whole heart into it.
On Tim’s behalf, thank you for your friendship, compassion and kindness.
Tim was preceded in death by his grandparents, L.G. and Mabel (Dorsey) Fox and James and Wilma (Ellis) Nachtman; along with his parents, Donald and Ruth Fox; and a brother, Kevin Fox. Survivors include: his brother, Tony (Corkie) Fox of Bassett; sisters, Donna (David) Billings, of Valentine, NE and Brenda (Roger) Magary of Ainsworth, NE; along with many nieces, nephews and other family members.
