Timothy Scott Gates

Timothy Scott Gates, a beloved son, husband, father, and grandfather, passed away on Tuesday, July 23rd, 2024. Born on September 24th, 1971, in Bellingham, Washington, to Thomas and Jeannette Gates.
After graduating from high school, Timothy worked as a commercial fisherman, serving as a skiff driver in both Alaska and California. He later transitioned into the trucking industries, where he worked driving concrete and gravel trucks and spent 22 years with Cowden Gravel Company.
Timothy married his first wife, Miykal, in 1994, and they raised five children together while living in Deming. He enjoyed running, camping, hiking, skiing, Bible memorization, and boating activities. Timothy's first marriage to Miykal ended in 2014. He found new joy and companionship when he married Lena Honrada Dimaano in 2017, and they later celebrated their union with a garden wedding at their home.
Timothy continued to enjoy various hobbies, including gardening, boating, camping, and caring for his beloved pets. He also developed a passion for woodworking, which led him to completely renovate his kitchen. In 2022, he and Lena traveled to the Philippines, where they met Lena's family and friends and created lasting memories and adventures.
Timothy is survived by his wife, Lena, whom he was married for seven years. He also is survived by his sons, Abram, Nicolas and Ethan; his Daughters Grace Ann and Evie; his parents Tom and Jeanette; his brother Rodney Gates and sister Angela Richardson; his grandchildren, Makai, Wilder and Hendrix; and many nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at Cornwall Church on August 14th, 2024, at 1:30 pm.
The family requests donations to the Darrell Lee Herigstad Endowed Transplant Research Fund.
Tim will be truly missed by his family and friends.
