Timothy Hodgini Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Sep. 2, 2025.
Dr. Timothy Joe Hodgini, known to friends and family as "Tim," "Dr. Tim," "Timmy," and "Hodge," passed away peacefully on August 25, 2025, at the age of 63 in Sebring, Florida.

Born on March 11, 1962, to Thomas O. Hodgini and Betty P. Hodgini, Tim grew up in Peru, Indiana where he graduated from Maconaquah High School. After graduating from Ball State University, he was selected to attend the University of Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine in Kirksville, Missouri, where he earned a doctorate degree in Osteopathic Medicine.

In his professional life, Dr. Hodgini was a dedicated medical doctor who practiced throughout northern Indiana. Most notably as a founding member of the Associated Family Medical Consultants in Fort Wayne, Medical Director/physician at Dukes Memorial Hospital in Peru, and as Director/physician, Emergency Services and Chairman, Department of Primary Care, Logansport Memorial Hospital in Logansport. Throughout Tim's life, he remained passionate about healing others.

Outside of his impressive career, he loved to vacation at Nokomis Beach in Florida where he spent many of his days marveling at the beauty of God's creation. Among other activities, he enjoyed playing golf and tennis, and spending time with friends over home-cooked meals.

Tim's presence was a constant source of comfort, humor, and inspiration. Tim will be remembered for his generosity, kindness, quick wit, and intelligence. His legacy lives on not only in the lives he touched but also in the values he instilled: patriotism, kindness, and compassion.

He is survived by his children, Ashley Hodgini of Austin, Texas, and Sara N. Hodgini and Michael Hodgini, of Fort Wayne, Indiana; siblings Thomas J. (Valle) Hodgini of Bettendorf, Iowa, Linda (Terry) Porter of Highlands Ranch, Colorado, and Karen (Bill) Carmichael of Peru, Indiana; aunt Janet Rockey of Lake Placid, Florida; and partner, Steffani Chandonait of Lake Placid, Florida.

A celebration of life will be held on September 22, 2025, at the Riverview Event Center, Peru, Indiana. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Venus Community Church, Venus, Florida, or Circus City Festival Inc., Peru, Indiana, in his honor.

Earlier today

I knew Tim during his time at Ball State University. I remember his easy going nature, his slightly goofy demeanor, and his ability to smile easily. He had a great smile. I remember his strong desire to enter a profession, where he could help others. I remember how happy he was to be accepted into medical school. We did not know each other through our adulting years, but I am close to his daughter.
I live in Austin, Texas where I am fortunate and blessed to be close to his beautiful daughter, Ashley. I have been able to see her grow from a little girl into the strong, competent, generous young woman she is. I will forever be grateful, that through Tim, I have the blessing of Ashley.
My sincere condolences and healing to his Peru family, friends, and Ashley´s precious Sara, and Michael. My thoughts and prayers are with you.

Yesterday

Fully enjoyed working beside Tim. One never had to question he was making the best choice for the people under his care. Heart felt thoughts that our Lord will bring comfort for his family at this time in life.
