Timothy Wayne Lavender Sr (Tim) - A True Son of South Georgia

Tim Lavender of Alma, Georgia lived his life much like the land he called home-steadfast, generous, and full of quiet beauty. Growing up in Waycross and a 1978 graduate of Waycross High School, Tim carried himself with a strength that came from hard work, faith, and a love for people. Career work included several years as a correctional officer, agricultural logistics support and retired as a professional transporter / driver.

Tim gained his wings at his home on the afternoon of August 15th, surrounded by his loving wife and his children.

He was a man whose wealth was measured not in possessions, but in kindness. To family, friends, and neighbors alike, Tim offered the same steady hand and warm smile-whether it was lending help, sharing a meal from his table, or simply sitting on the porch swapping stories as the day came to a close.

His life was a reminder that happiness comes from faith, fellowship, and gratitude for each day's blessings. He was a man of many words and if you knew him, you knew he loved to crack a joke and make someone laugh. He was the life of the party and never met a stranger.

Tim found joy in the simple treasures of this part of the world like the quiet peace of a country road at dawn His joy came out of the simpler things in life: sitting in his truck after work under a shade tree, watching his grandchildren run around playing in the yard, making smores with Brayson and Brilynn, riding the block to pick berries and cooking on the grill on a Saturday listening to the Dawgs play on the radio.

He leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and loyalty-a family that cherishes his memory and a community richer for having known him. Though his earthly journey has ended, those who loved him know he's simply gone on ahead, to a place where the fields are greener, and the skies are always clear.

He is preceded in death by his mother and father David and Velvie Lavender, His brother- in- law and one of his best friends - Bo Hayes. His mother and father-in-law, Emmitt and Nadine Hayes. He was also preceded in death by a special nephew Jonathan King, a twin brother and 2 angel grand babies.
