Timothy "Tim" Lee McDonald, 75, lovingly known by his family and friends as "Scrap Iron", entered into eternal rest on Monday, September 15, 2025, at Capitol Rehabilitation & Healthcare Center in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, surrounded by love and comfort.

He was born on February 4, 1950, in Springfield, Ohio, to Nellie Kathryn (Smith) McDonald and the late Marshall Stegall McDonald. Tim grew up in Austell, Georgia, and graduated from South Cobb High School in 1968. Soon after, he proudly served his country in the United States Army in Southeast Asia during the Vietnam War, until his honorable discharge, a service he carried with quiet pride throughout his life.

Though he eventually made his home in the Harrisburg area, Tim's heart was never far from his family. He faithfully kept in touch, making daily calls to his sisters-sometimes to ask a question, other times just to share a laugh or let them know he was thinking of them. These calls became his way of staying connected and showing his love, even from a distance.

Tim found joy in life's simple pleasures. He enjoyed collecting stamps and coins, and he never missed the thrill of a NASCAR race on television. But above all, Tim cherished the moments spent with his family, who meant everything to him.

He is survived by his loving mother, Nellie Kathryn (Smith) McDonald; his devoted siblings, Larry Eugene McDonald (Linda), Janice Carol Schug (Gene), Kathleen Rozel McDonald, Denise Kay Moody (Ricky), Marsha Louise Wills, Tina Sue Nash; grandson, Jacob Kidd; and his maternal aunt, Dona Stant of Springfield, Ohio; as well as many nieces and nephews.

Tim was preceded in death by his beloved son, Jason Lee Kidd, in 2018, a loss he carried with a father's enduring love.

Services will be held at the convenience of the family.

Tim will be remembered for his kind heart, his thoughtful phone calls, his stories, and the quiet ways he showed his love.

His family takes comfort in knowing that he has been reunited with his son, and that his memory will live on in the hearts of all who loved him.
