Timothy Green Rice passed away on Tuesday, July 23, 2024 at the Heartford House. He was born on April, 14, 1963 in Columbia, South Carolina to Maitland B. Rice and the late Wanda Green Rice. He was a member of Bellevue Baptist Church. He was a man of faith and tried every day to follow in the footsteps of Jesus Christ. Tim was employed with ATMOS Energy for 31 years. He loved spending time with his family and playing golf.
In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by his grandparents, Clara and B.C. Green and Maitland and Opal Rice.
He is survived by his wife of 39 years and love of his life, Vanda Rice. He is also survived by his children and the apples of his eye, Holly (Jack) Sherry and Maitland Rice; father, Maitland B. Rice; grandchildren, Saylor Green and Scottie Blue Sherry and their sibling due later this year; sister, Lisa Rice; brothers, Jeff (Tammy) Rice, Darren (Amy) Rice, and Stephen (Stacy) Rice. He leaves behind many sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces and nephews that he loved dearly.
Funeral services will be at noon on Monday, July 29, 2024 at Bellevue Baptist Church, 4950 KY 56, Owensboro. Burial will follow in Rosehill Cemetery. Visitation is from 1 to 4 p.m. on Sunday at James H. Davis Funeral Home and Crematory and from 10 a.m. to noon on Monday at the church.
The family would like to thank Timesavers, specifically his caretaker Anna Middleton and the Heartford House for the special care they gave him at the end of his life.
Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to the Heartford House, Hospice of Western Kentucky, 3419 Wathens Crossing, Owensboro, KY 42301.
