Timothy Lee Rice, age 57, of Erwin, passed away on Monday, August 5, 2024, at his home. A native of Erwin, Timothy is a son of Fred Lee Rice and Sharon Stacey. He is of the Baptist faith and is a graduate of Unicoi County High School. Timothy loved building things with his hands. He worked at TN Eastman in construction as a certified Welder. He was raised in Flag Pond and was proud of it. Timothy is preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Ruby Holcomb and his paternal grandmother, Thelma Briggs.
In addition to his parents, Timothy Lee Rice has left behind to cherish his memory: daughter, Madison Metcalf, of Erwin; brother, Kevin Rice, of Erwin; sister, Wanda Rice, of Flag Pond; and several nieces and nephews.
The family respectfully requests the honor of your presence as we offer tribute and remember the life of Timothy Lee Rice in a graveside committal service to be held at 2:00 pm on Tuesday, August 13, 2024 in Evergreen Cemetery. Bishop John Edwards will officiate. A visitation period to share memories and offer support to the family will begin at 12:30 pm and continue until 1:30 pm in the chapel at Valley Funeral Home on Tuesday, August 13, 2024. Those who wish to attend the committal service should meet at Valley Funeral Home by 1:30 pm on Tuesday to go in procession to the cemetery. Active pallbearers will be selected from among family and friends.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests the memorial donations be made in Timothy's name to the Unicoi County Animal Shelter, 185 N Industrial Drive, Erwin, TN 37650.
