Timothy “Tim” Lee Salisbury, age 70, of Phillips, WI, passed away on Friday, October 6, 2023, of complications from a stroke he had in April 2018.

He was born in Flint, Michigan, to Joe and Mary (Gibbons) Salisbury, on May 24, 1953.  His family lived in Illinois during his childhood years, before moving to Tony, Wisconsin. Tim was a three-sport athlete (football, wrestling, and baseball) in high school, graduating in 1971, from Flambeau High School. He married his high school sweetheart, Lynn Collier, on December 1, 1973, and together, they raised three sons: Todd, Travis, and Troy. Tim and Lynn were married almost 50 before his passing.

He continued his education, graduating in 1977 from the University of Wisconsin-River Falls, with a Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics and a minor in Athletic Coaching. After college, he worked as Quotation Analyst/Quotation Department Manager for Kroy Industries – UFE Division, out of their corporate offices in Stillwater, Minnesota.

In December 1984, Tim moved his family to Phillips and worked for Phillips Plastics from 1984 – 2002, as a Senior Project Engineer, Production Manager, Program Manager, Manufacturing Engineering Manager, and finally, a Senior Manufacturing Engineer. From 2002 to retirement in 2016, Tim worked in River Falls, Wisconsin, for Minnesota Rubber and Plastics, Quadion LLC, as a Chief Project Engineer.

Tim loved coaching his three sons in Little League baseball, Phillips High School Logger football, and Powerlifting! He was involved with the Boy Scouts, the high school booster club, and served on the Phillips School Board for 12 years. Hunting, fishing, camping, and golfing were some of his favorite hobbies. He enjoyed watching all sports, especially the Green Bay Packers!

He is survived by his wife, Lynn; his three sons, Todd (Wendy) of Hillsboro, WI, Travis (Kristin) of Oshkosh, WI, Troy (Crystal) of Waunakee, WI; by eight grandchildren, Amy, Nicci, Megan, Brett, Bella, Aubrey, Maddy, and Avery; siblings, John (Jeanne) of Idaho Falls, ID, Jeff (Barb) of Abbotsford, WI, Mary Jo (Mike) Palmore of Tuscon, AZ, and Carol (Julio) Roman of Puerto Penasco, Sonora, Mexico; several sisters-in-law, nieces, and nephews.

His grandkids were the treasures and joy in his life! Pontoon rides with the grandkids as they danced to his “golden oldies” tunes made him so happy!

Tim was full of life, bad jokes, laughter, and shenanigans. He was lovingly known as the ringleader of the Salisbury circus. He will be missed!

A Celebration of Tim’s life will be held next summer, 2024. Heindl-Nimsgern Funeral Home is assisting the family.
