Mr. Timothy Ray "Tim" Schermer, age 71, of Milton, Kentucky entered this life on January 1, l951 in Milan, Indiana. He was the loving son of the late George G. Schermer and Opal Lucille Little Schermer Taylor. He graduated from Trimble County High School in l969, and was a lifelong resident of Trimble County, Kentucky. Tim was inducted into the United States Army and was honorably discharged and served in the Reserves for six years. He was first united in marriage to Barbara Jean Lyon son November 9, 1973 at the Milton Wesleyan Church by the Rev. Henry F. Taylor. This happy union of 31 years was blessed with a son, Matthew and a daughter, Angela. He was later married to Deanna Marie Wood on May 3, 2008 in Decatur, Illinois after the death of Barbara Jean. Tim worked at FAS Plastics for 18 years, retiring in 2017. He was a member of Mt. Tabor Wesleyan Church and was formerly a member of the Milton Wesleyan Church. He loved gospel music and enjoyed playing the saxophone. Tim was a vital part of the Jefferson County Holiness Camp, the Bryantsburg Holiness Camp and the Callis Holiness Camp and served wherever needed. He enjoyed participating in activities at the church and being with his family. Tim died on Saturday, July 23, 2022, at 3:52 p.m. at the Norton Brownsboro Hospital in Louisville, Kentucky. A LOVING FAMILY Tim will be missed by his loving wife of 14 years, Deanna Wood Schermer of Milton, Kentucky; his loving son, Matthew Schermer of Milton, Kentucky; his brother, Gary Schermer and his wife Jean of Bloomington, Indiana; his step-sisters, Donna Mahoney and her husband Pastor Wayne of Milton, Kentucky, Kathy Henry of Madison, Indiana; his step-brothers, David Taylor and his wife Cheryl of Lexington, Indiana, Standley Taylor of Versailles, Indiana; his mother-in-law, Marie Matthews Wood of Forsythe, Illinois; his brother-in-law, Bob Wood of Baraboo, Wisconsin,several nieces, nephews and other relatives. He was preceded in death by his father, George G. Schermer, died March 10, 1955, his mother, Opal Lucille Little Schermer Taylor, died January 1, 2002, his wife of 31 years, Barbara Jean Lyons Schermer, died September 20, 2004, his step father, The Rev. Henry F. Taylor, died July 29, 2007, his half brother, Ernest Schermer, died July 10, 1998, his daughter, Angela Marie Schermer, died August 18, 1976, his sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Nancy Kay Lyons, died June 21, 2002, Donald Lee Lyons, died February 23, 2008, Joyce Taylor, died October 29, 2021, Howard Allen Henry, died September 27, 2021, Karen Wood, died, December 17, 1967 and David Wood, died August 25, 2016, Jerry Wood, died January 2022, his father-in-law and mother-in-law, James William Lyons, died February 28, 2017 and Cleata E. Lockridge Lyons, died November 20, 2018 and Clarence Dean Wood, died August 10, 1977. FUNERAL CEREMONY Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, July 28, 2022, at 11:00 a.m., by Pastor Wayne Mahoney and Pastor Orville Mann at the Morgan & Nay Funeral Centre, 325 Demaree Drive in Madison, Indiana. Interment will follow in the Moffett Cemetery in Milton, Kentucky.
