On Saturday, December 24, 2022, Timothy Lee Shockley passed away at the age 72 at St. David's South Medical Center in Austin Texas after many years of chronic illness.
Tim was born on June 30, 1950 in Houston, TX to Harry Lee and Mary Lucille (Wilson) Shockley. He graduated from Charles H. Milby High School in Houston in 1969 and studied at the University of Houston for two years.
Tim went on to various divergent careers including managing a tape record shop (in the 70s), performing floral arrangement services, became an accomplished forms designer, served a brief enlistment in the U.S. Coast Guard and then retired in 2001 from the Texas General Land Office as administrator of computer mainframe operations.
Tim moved from Houston to Austin in 1982 and stayed because he loved the Texas hill country. He is remembered by many friends in Houston and in Austin that will remember his kind and compassionate spirit.
Tim was preceded in death by his father, Harry, his mother, Mary, his sister Betty Goin and brother Joe (Sonny). He is survived by his brother Jim and his wife, Christine plus 3 nieces and 3 nephews, as well as numerous beloved cousins. Tim's fondest memories are of the summers and Fourth of July's in Edna that he was able to share with those relatives.
Tim will be laid to his final rest alongside his Mother and Father at South Park Cemetery in Pearland, TX. A private graveside service with immediate family will be held after final arrangements are completed.
