Timothy Stephen Slade

Timothy Stephen Slade was born in Los Angeles, California, on July 7, 1951, and passed away on July 11, 2025, at his residence in Anchorage, Alaska.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Philip Slade and Geraldine Kerner, and is survived by two sisters, three brothers, and several nieces and nephews.
After graduating from high school, Tim pursued his passion for beauty and style, enrolling in beauty school and becoming an award-winning hair stylist. His talent and creativity led him to Hawaii, and later to Alaska, where he embraced a new chapter by returning to school to become a registered nurse.
Tim dedicated nearly 30 years of his life to The Arc of Anchorage, ultimately leading his department with compassion, integrity, and excellence. He made a lasting impact on the Alaskan community through his unwavering commitment to care, advocacy, and inclusion for people with disabilities.
Beyond his professional life, Tim was a man of strong principles and vibrant passions. He was a devoted environmental advocate and a tireless supporter of equal rights and social justice. A proud member of the LGBTQ+ community, Tim stood firmly for love, dignity, and equality, and worked throughout his life to uplift and support others within the community.
A lover of rock music, a gifted artist, an avid world traveler, and a true Alaskan sourdough, Tim brought creativity, warmth, humor, and authenticity to everyone he met. His presence filled a room, and his kindness left a mark.
He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, colleagues, and all those whose lives were enriched by his generosity, brilliance, and spirit.
