Timothy Snyder Obituary

Published by Legacy on Jan. 24, 2026.
Timothy Wayne Snyder, age 66, of Marion, OH, passed away on Wednesday, January 21, 2026 at his home. Tim was born on September 20, 1959 to the late Carl and Louella Snyder, née Maze, in Clarksburg, WV.
Visitation will be held at 3:30pm on Tuesday, January 27 at Richland Road Church of Christ (535 Richland Road, Marion, OH), with funeral services beginning at 5:00 and a celebration of life to follow.
Tim grew up in Clarksburg, WV, and was a very talented saxophonist in his youth. He graduated from Roosevelt Wilson High School in 1977. He went on to have a long, impactful career in education and technology, spending 25+ years with META Solutions and TRECA. His thirst for knowledge was a lifelong pursuit, with Tim earning his master's degree in 2019.
Tim loved his family. Tim's wife, Susan, loved to keep him guessing, getting him with pranks throughout their 30+ years together. He would lovingly tell her, "It's never a dull moment with you" when she got him with a good one. Tim was also an ever-supportive dad. One thing that always stood out about Tim as a dad was how he would always be interested in whatever his kids liked, no matter how uninteresting it was (and a lot of it was very uninteresting). He was always fully invested and interested, because he loved to connect with his kids over whatever they loved. Tim was also a great fan of Ohio State football.
Tim was a devoted husband, dad, grandpa, uncle, brother, and friend. He leaves behind his beloved wife Susan, his kids Carey Gerber (Aaron), TR Snyder (Julie), Carl Snyder (Tiffany), and Trisha Ponziani (Michael). The light of Tim's life were his grandkids, Daniel and Maddie Gerber, Calvin Snyder, Leigha and Cohen Snyder, and Jaxen, Kendall, and Andrew Ponziani. Siblings Gary Snyder, Bill and Cathy Lewis, Jerry and Shaina Stevenson, Shasta Walsh, and Bill and Laura Wickstead, and his aunt Faye Lattea.
Tim was preceded in death by his parents, Carl and Louella Snyder, and his sister Diane Snyder.

Tim was a great friend and colleague. I learned a lot from him, and we enjoyed some pretty good laughs. He was so very proud of his family and loved you all so much. Hold onto those good memories in the hard times.
