Tim "Smooth" St. Julien was born in Houston, Texas in 1956, and while his roots were there, he spent the majority of his life in Louisiana. He served his country honorably in the Army, stationed at Fort Polk in 1973 as part of Company A21 Platoon 4.
Tim possessed a personality that was truly larger than life, a one-of-a-kind individual who was a class act in every sense. He was undoubtedly the heart and soul of any gathering, bringing infectious energy and guaranteeing a good time wherever he went. He cherished being with people and embraced life with enthusiasm, and his "Smooth" charm, legendary for turning strangers into fast friends, could immediately put anyone at ease and spark laughter. This same love of life was a precious gift he passed down to his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Music held a special place in Tim's heart, with a particular fondness for Sade. He also loved the vibrant energy of Zydeco music and was known for his smooth moves on the dance floor. Tim took pride in his appearance, always looking and smelling his best, dressed to impress whenever he was out and about. His favorite color was brown, and he was rarely seen without his signature cowboy boots. He also had a great appreciation for Western movies.
Tim's love for the outdoors was evident in his favorite activities. He enjoyed camping, spending time on the water in his boat, and water skiing. He had a deep connection to nature and the skills to thrive off the land. He was an accomplished hunter and fisherman, with a particular passion for rabbit hunting. His culinary talents shone in dishes like gumbo and crawfish etouffee, and he loved sharing the game he hunted with loved ones. He was also known for his excellent homemade beef jerky.
Tim "Smooth" St Julien carried a radiant inner joy that illuminated everything he did. He found happiness in his family, in shared moments with others, and in making everyone he encountered feel that same joy. Tim's passing leaves a void in the lives of his loving family, but his legacy of joy, grace, class, and a life fully lived will forever be cherished and carried on through them.
He is preceded in death by his father, Paul St. Julien, Sr.; and grandson, Jason St. Julien.
His memory lives on through his mother, Leona St. Julien; children, Elisa (Russell) Miller, Timothy St. Julien, II, and Autumn Pickens; grandchildren, Camri, Cameron, Jason, Brianna, Zackary, Avyanna, Alijah, and Asaiah St. Julien, Cayden Miller, Austin Pickens, and Anessa Odariko; great grandchildren, Krue Clark-el and Daniel St. Julien; and sisters, Patsy, Jackie, Deborah, and Vanessa St. Julien; and brothers Daniel and Paul (Cindy) St. Julien; aunts, Verna Bossett, Dorothy Thibeaux and Yvonne Thibeaux; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, June 7, 2025, from 12:00 PM to 4:00 PM at Louisiana Funeral Services & Crematory, 108 Hardware Rd., Broussard, LA, with a Rosary at 2:45 PM followed by the memorial service at 3:00 PM.
